Yuting Irene Li

Group Leader

Irene is a theoretical physicist trained in the statistical physics and thermodynamics of active matter. She did her PhD with Prof. Mike Cates in the Soft Matter group at DAMTP, University of Cambridge, followed by postdoctoral work with Prof. Ben Simons (Cambridge) and Prof. Edouard Hannezo (ISTA). She holds an IST-Bridge fellowship (part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie COFUND action) and received the Royal Society RAMP Early Career Investigator Award for her contribution to pandemic modelling.

We are recruiting! There is an open PhD position and an open postdoctoral position in theoretical biophysics, working closely with experimental collaborators. We are looking for people with a background in physics, applied mathematics, or a quantitative branch of biology who are excited about non-equilibrium physics and living systems.
